Explore Nicaragua in Style

Although not often considered as a luxury holiday destination, for those keen on visiting Nicaragua in comfort and style there are enough options in terms of flights, hotels and experiences to satisfy most requirements.

Fly to Nicaragua in comfort

Before one even arrives in Nicaragua, you’ll first need to consider your flight options, something we cover in more detail in our Nicaragua Flights section.

Beyond The Ordinary arrange fully bonded, tailor made holidays and tours to Nicaragua. Contact one of our experts on 01580 764796, email travel@beyondtheordinary.co.uk or contact us via our website.

With no direct flights between Europe & Managua, most visitors fly with British Airways / American Airlines via Miami or United via Houston.

Both routings afford clients the option of upgrading (on the long-haul sectors) to either Premium Economy or Business Class or even a combination of the two.

Clients also have the option of flying via Mexico City with either Aeromexico or British Airways although this option is primarily directed at anyone wanting to spend a few days in Mexico’s lively capital city enroute to Nicaragua.

Luxury hotels in Nicaragua

Although not exactly awash with luxury hotels, and certainly limited to a handful of destinations, it is more than possible to both explore Nicaragua, and then relax, in considerable comfort.

Of the country’s two most famous and visited colonial towns, Granada & Leon, the former definitely comes out on top in terms of both the quantity and quality of its accommodation.

Hotels such as Tribal (pictured below) will appeal to anyone looking for a contemporary aesthetic while Plaza Colon will appeal more to the traditionalists.

Granada Luxury Hotels

A short distance away, within the beautiful Isletas de Granada, the Jicaro Island Lodge provides luxurious, eco accommodation and, for those not fussed by the beach, is a great place to unwind for a few days at the end of a holiday.

While Leon can’t lay claim to any genuinely luxurious accommodation, Hotel El Convento offers more than adequate rooms and facilities within one of the most atmospheric settings in Nicaragua.

When it comes to the beach, Nicaragua is in the enviable position of offering beach accommodation options in either the Caribbean or along its Pacific coastline. Why not try both?

Within the Caribbean, Yemaya Reefs on Little Corn Island offers affordable luxury in a barefoot setting.

The Pacific coastline of Nicaragua is also home to a number of enticing beach hotels, none more so than the superb Morgan’s Rock (pictured below) just north of San Juan del Sur and Rancho Santana along the fabled Emerald Coast.

Luxury travel within Guatemala

All our Nicaragua holidays are arranged on a private basis, tailor made to clients’ individual requirements.

Should clients require the services of a private Driver / Guide throughout their tour of the country, no problem, we can arrange that.

Alternatively, we can also arrange more loosely structured itineraries that include private transport throughout, interspersed with in-situ private tours.

When it comes to transport, vehicles are comfortable and feature a/c as standard although this isn’t somewhere suited to being driven around in luxury limousines.
