Morgan’s Rock
San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua
Beach
Covering a staggering 4000 acres of pristine forest alongside Nicaragua’s dramatic Pacific coastline, more than half of Morgan’s Rock vast estate comprises a private, protected reserve.
Located just 20 minutes’ drive north of the bustling, tourist-orientated coastal town of San Juan del Sur, Morgan’s Rock might as well be on a different planet.
Such is the scale of the property that, even from the initial estate entrance, it is still an approximate 10 minute drive to the hotel reception.
In addition to the reception area, the hotel’s only significant building houses the bar, restaurant and swimming pool, all enjoying panoramic views over Morgan’s Rock’s sweeping bay below.
While it is possible for guests to spend their time at Morgan’s Rock simply relaxing at the beach, by the pool or in the comfort of their own room, the hotel offers a number of Experiences that go far beyond the, er, ordinary.

For those who like to stay active while on holiday, even at the beach, there are options to go hiking, cycling and kayaking, all within the estate grounds.
Those after a bit of pampering will also find a number of treatments available at the hotel’s open-air, Paslama Oasis Spa.
Within the reserve, there are a number of different nature tours available exploring the estate’s different eco systems and wide variety of flora and fauna including three species of monkeys – Howler, Spider & White Faced Capuchins.
Details of all the experiences available at the hotel are available on request.
When it comes to food & drink at Morgan’s Rock, the sheer size of the property and the ethos of its owners once again comes to the fore.
As a result of having its own working farm – home to cows, chickens, fruit / vegetable gardens and even a shrimp farm – Morgan’s Rock sources roughly 60% of its overall food needs from right on the premises, the ultimate in farm to fork practices. It is even possible for guests to prepare and enjoy a traditional breakfast on the farm.
Cuisine on offer in the main restaurant spans both Nicaraguan and international tastes and is complemented by a wide variety of beverage options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
When it comes to accommodation, and despite the size of the property and land available, there are just 15 bungalows and 3 villas, the latter comprising 2 bedrooms each as well as a private pool.
Of the bungalows, there are 2 Forest View Bungalows with plunge pools, 10 Ocean View bungalows, and 3 Ocean View bungalows with plunge pools.
Please note that none of the accommodation options, which are designed to be as open to the elements as possible, feature a/c. Instead, rooms are fitted with the revolutionary Evening Breeze system which ensures a good night’s sleep.
