The best places to stay in Matagalpa & Jinotega
Matagalpa & Jinotega Hotels
While the Matagalpa & Jinotega region may be rich in beautiful countryside, flora and fauna and home to the finest coffee in Nicaragua, accommodation options are decidedly limited.
Overall, the best accommodation to be found in the region is Montebrisa, a small hotel / B&B located right in the heart of Matagalpa town. While it might not offer the natural setting that draws most visitors to the region, it does provide an attractive and comfortable base from which clients can set out on all manner of day trips.
Just north of Matagalpa is Selva Negra, a private eco-reserve offering opportunities to go hiking, birdwatching and simply enjoying the great outdoors. Within the reserve is a Lodge offering a choice between hotel style rooms or individual cabanas.
Our third and final accommodation option is the Centro de Entendimiento con la Naturaleza – normally abbreviated to simply CEN – a simple but comfortable lodge within the beautiful Penas Blancas Reserve.
All three hotels can be booked through Beyond The Ordinary as part of a private, tailor made holiday to Nicaragua. For ideas and inspiration as to how to include the region in your own travel plans, either give us a call / drop us an email or check out the sample Itineraries page on our website.
