The Best Western Las Mercedes isn’t located within the airport itself but is separated from the single terminal building (home to all international & domestic flights), by about 100 metres and a busy three line highway.

Without any baggage, and in dry weather, it is easy enough to cross the highway as a level crossing connects the hotel to the terminal building.

Alternatively, if it’s raining and / or you don’t want to be dragging suitcases across the highway, the hotel operates a regular, free shuttle bus that runs back and forth to the terminal.

As an added convenience, the reception desk at the Best Western Las Mercedes is wired up to the airport with live flight information available for guests to check whether their flights are on time.

While not a luxurious hotel, the property features a large, airy lobby area, swimming pool, spacious gardens, cafe and a large restaurant.

Rooms are comfortable, with a/c and ensuite bathrooms, but are in need of updating.

As most of our clients arrive in Managua late at night after a long day, and then head off the next morning on their tour of Nicaragua, staying at the Best Western Las Mercedes saves on unnecessary travel.
