Tribal Hotel
Granada, Nicaragua
Heritage
Adult only
Tucked away on a quiet, unassuming street just a short walk from Parque Central, Tribal Hotel is undoubtedly the most stylish hotel in Granada, if not all Nicaragua.
One thing that Tribal Hotel is not is a traditional luxury hotel boasting a wide range of rooms, bars, restaurants and facilities.
With just seven rooms, staying at Tribal Hotel is akin to being a houseguest with the most stylish friends you could hope for.
The word eclectic was designed for spaces such as these, a seemingly effortless mish mash of styles, themes and influences that come together to form an idyllic, tropical, boho hideaway.
Owned by restaurateur Jean-Marc Houmard and business partner Yvan Cussigh, every single aspect of Tribal Hotel was conceived by the duo, from the initial layout of the property right down to each and every piece of furniture.

Entering off the street, reception comprises a small table and chair. Formalities over, you will turn the corner into a beautiful, plant-filled courtyard housing the hotel’s small swimming pool. This is a pool where one comes to cool off after a day’s exploration, not to do lengths.
To the side of the pool is a covered veranda that serves as a communal living space for guests to read, relax and get to know each other. In the evening, both the courtyard and veranda are turned into a torch-lit lounge where guests can enjoy cocktails and light tapas.
The hotel’s seven seven rooms comprise five deluxe rooms and two junior suites. In a town where outside room space is relatively rare, perhaps the most immediately compelling feature of the hotel is that all rooms offer private, outside space.
The deluxe rooms are located on either the ground or first floor, all with private terraces, while the two junior suites are located on the first floor and feature a large private terrace that serves as an outdoor living room.
Internally, each of the seven rooms are beautifully and individually styled and furnished with luxury fittings and amenities throughout.
Wifi is available throughout the hotel while in-room massages can also be arranged
Please note that while breakfast is included in the price, and light snacks and tapas are available, Tribal Hotel does not have its own restaurant. However, there are numerous bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and the hotel’s staff are on hand to offer advice and recommendations.
