Patio del Malinche

The light, airy reception and sometime cake shop is located just off a quiet residential street in Granada. Behind reception, and part of the original building layout, is a large, open air courtyard where an a la carte breakfast is served with, typically, a selection of seasonal fruit and a choice of hot options, both international and typical Nicaraguan.

Behind that is a new extension that blends in seamlessly with the original structure, comprising a small pool, bar and the hotel’s standard rooms in a 2-story, whitewashed block.

To the side of this is a further extension to the original building, again superbly integrating old and new, that houses the superior rooms.

In total, Patio del Malinche has 20 rooms, comprising 16 standard rooms and 4 slightly larger, more private, superior rooms. Our favourite room, B, is the only room with its own outside space, a small terrace overlooking a compact courtyard garden.

All the simply but tastefully furnished rooms feature a/c, ceiling fans, tv and safe. From the upper floor of the standard rooms, there are even views of Mombacho Volcano in the distance. Standard rooms are available with 1 Queen or 2 Single beds while the 4 Superior rooms feature either 1 King or 2 Single beds.

Wifi is available throughout the hotel while a reliable, inexpensive laundry service is also available.

As an owner-managed hotel, perhaps the best feature of Patio del Malinche is its service which is understated but always professional and friendly.
