Jicaro Island Lodge
Granada, Nicaragua
Lakefront
Located amidst the beautiful Isletas de Granada, some 30 minutes from historic Granada by road and then boat, Jicaro Island Lodge is one of the most luxurious hotels in Nicaragua.
Lakefront Luxury
Accommodation at Jicaro Island Lodge comprises just 7 spacious, wooden casitas, all with balconies directly overlooking the lake and, just as importantly, a sense of secluded privacy. All rooms feature a king size bed together with a twin sofa bed.
The beautiful infinity pool is partly built from natural stone and is surrounded by plenty of greenery and, should you require it, shade.
While many visitors to the island will be content to relax by the pool with a good book, or have a snooze in a hammock on their casita balcony, there are plenty of optional activities available for those who so wish.
Within the hotel, there is a small but beautiful spa in which a number of treatments are available including massages. Yoga classes are also available on the deck overlooking the lake.

If you fancy getting out on the water, guests can explore their immediate surroundings by kayak or paddle board.
With nowhere else to eat, it makes sense for Jicaro Island Lodge to operate on a Full Board basis with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner all included in the price.
All meals are taken in the lovely, open-air restaurant with views out over the lake. Despite only having 7 rooms, and therefore a limited number of guests at any one time, the menu is not only very diverse but also incredibly inventive, seasonal and delicious.
In addition to the restaurant there is a well-stocked bar with a decent selection of beers, wines and spirits with bar staff eager to show off their cocktail making skills.
As one of the most eco-conscious hotels in Nicaragua, sustainability is at the heart of everything that Jicaro Island Lodge does.
The casitas are made of recycled wood, almost all of the hotel’s power comes from solar panels, waste waster is filtered for drinking, much of the kitchen’s fruit and vegetables are grown either on-site or nearby while eco-friendly products are in use throughout the property.
In addition to these eco-credentials, the hotel goes out of its way to employ locals, both directly and indirectly, as well as supporting a nearby school.
In addition to all three meals, also included in the rates are non-alcoholic beverages & afternoon snacks, complimentary use of kayaks and paddle boards and a Sustainability Tour.
Naturally, a stay at the hotel combines perfectly with a few days in the nearby, beautiful and historic town of Granada.
If the budget doesn’t allow it, it is also possible to visit the Isletas de Granada on a day trip from Granada.
