The best places to stay in Granada

As the largest tourist draw in Nicaragua, Granada has the commensurate greatest range of hotel options for clients to choose from.

At the top of the pile – depending on personal taste of course – is Tribal Hotel (pictured above), the only ‘design hotel’ in town and one of the very few such examples to be found anywhere in Nicaragua.

Granada’s other hotel options can pretty much all be described as falling into the ‘colonial’ style.

The most prominent of these hotels is the Plaza Colon which directly overlooks Parque Central in the very centre of town.

Below that in the pecking order there are a number of good options including Patio del Malinche, Hotel Real La Merced & Hotel Con Corazon.

All of the above mentioned hotels are centrally located, within easy walking distance of Granada’s major sites of interest, bars, restaurants and shops.

Outside town, within the beautiful Isletas de Granada, the low-key luxury of Jicaro Island Lodge is also a compelling option for a few days R&R.
