South of Merida Hotels

Being an overwhelmingly rural region, with no large towns to speak of, hotel options south of Merida tend to appeal to visitors seeking peace and quiet within an attractive setting.

While one can find hacienda hotels to both the north and east of Merida (not to mention outside Campeche), there is a good argument for saying that the cream of the crop are to be found to the south of Merida

Many of our clients opt to visit the Hacienda Sotuta de Peon which, aside from being the only working hacienda in the region, also features an onsite hotel.

Nearby, and one of the most luxurious hacienda hotels in the South Merida region, is the lovely Hacienda Temozon.

For those clients who really want to get away from it all, its sister hotel, Hacienda Santa Rosa, is truly remote but equally stunning.

Beyond The Ordinary arrange fully bonded, tailor made holidays and tours to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. Contact one of our experts on 01580 764796, email travel@beyondtheordinary.co.uk or contact us via our website.

If it’s out and out luxury that you’re after, that crown must go to the Hacienda Chable Yucatan which has taken a colonial-era property and given it a very contemporary makeover.

Other hacienda properties that we work with in the region include Hacienda Maria Elena Yucatan & Hacienda Yabucu.

For those clients looking to stay as close as possible to the Mayan ruins of Uxmal, please visit our separate page on Uxmal Accommodation.

Not listed in the Uxmal section, but just a short drive away near the small town of Santa Elena, is the peaceful and picturesque Hotel Nueva Altia.

Last, but by no means least, we are also able to take bookings for Destino Mio Maya Jungle Resort.
