Hacienda Yabucu
Merida, Mexico
Haciendas
The Hacienda Yabucu is an historic 18th century hacienda that has been converted into a charming hotel & restaurant.
Although we have listed the Hacienda Yabucu under the Merida heading, the property is actually located a good 30 minutes’ drive south east of the city, roughly midway between the small towns of Acanceh & Seye.
With its rural location, and nestled amid beautiful gardens, Hacienda Yabucu is a peaceful, relaxing retreat as well as a base from which to explore many of the Yucatan’s most important historical sites.
The city of Merida is an easy day trip from the hacienda while, with its location just off highway 184, it is also an ideal base from which to explore the famous Convent Route and numerous Mayan sites including Mayapan.
Once clients have had their fill of exploring the surrounding region, the hacienda’s pool is a great place to relax with a book, as are the surrounding gardens.
In total, Hacienda Yabucu features 21 rooms split into 3 categories: 16 Deluxe rooms, 4 Casa de Maquinas rooms and the Casa Principal suite.
The hotel also boasts Los Almendros restaurant, specialising in traditional Yucatan cuisine.
On a final note, the Hacienda Yabucu is also part of the UMA (Environmental Management Unit) project, with its grounds home to white-tailed deer and foxes as well as various bird species including parakeets, parrots and woodpeckers.
