One of the most beautiful hotels in Guatemala, the Hotel Atitlan enjoys a truly stunning location directly in front of Lake Atitlan with nothing but perfectly manicured gardens between it and the water’s edge.

Previously a coffee plantation, the original buildings at Hotel Atitlan were converted into a hotel in 1971 with 2 subsequent, sympathetic extensions taking the property to its current size of just 60 rooms. Still privately owned, wherever you are in the hotel you will come across beautiful pieces of local pottery, arts and crafts.
When not on the lake or exploring the surrounding countryside, the hotel has a lovely pool and jacuzzi, both with the same wonderful views. Within the main building is a shop, snug bar and a restaurant with options for eating inside or out.
For those who prefer to eat out, the town of Panajachel is a short, 5-minute car journey away.

Perhaps most importantly for many guests, all rooms face directly onto the gardens, lake and distant volcanoes. Although slightly old fashioned, rooms are spacious, comfortable and all have a terrace or balcony from which to enjoy the views.
During high season (November through April), the hotel is very popular so clients wishing to stay here should book as far in advance as possible.
