Hotel San Basilio
Santiago De Cuba, Cuba
Heritage
Although the building dates back to the 1920s, the San Basilio only became a hotel in 2008 after being entirely renovated.
With only 8 rooms, the San Basilio doesn’t offer much in the way of facilities but rooms are all comfortable and tastefully furnished while the small public areas are bright, airy and welcoming.
Located in the heart of the city, just a couple of blocks from Parque Cespedes, the San Basilio is within walking distance of all Santiago de Cuba’s key tourist sites while the hotel can usually help with arrangements for getting out of the city and seeing a bit more of the region.
Despite being Cuba’s second largest city, accommodation options are very limited in Santiago de Cuba, with the San Basilio still being the only option for those visitors who prefer small, heritage style accommodation.
