Hotel Conde De Villanueva
Havana, Cuba
Heritage
Little has changed at the one-time home of Claudio Martínez de Pinillos, Count of Villanueva, and the hotel that bears his title is one of the most attractive of Old Havana’s heritage properties.
Not only is the Hotel Conde de Villanueva located on probably Old Havana’s smartest street, and a pedestrianised one at that, but its lovely central, courtyard affords guests the open-space that many similar hotels in the city lack.
The hotel is also something of a mecca for cigar lovers. Not only does it have its own, well-stocked cigar shop but all the hotel’s rooms are all named after famous tobacco growing areas.
Within the hotel there is a small bar and restaurant but, with so many places to eat and drink nearby, such facilities are really no more than an afterthought to most guests.
In total, the Hotel Conde de Villanueva has 9 comfortable, colonial-style rooms distributed around the central courtyard.
