Dating back to 1925, the Melia San Carlos lay derelict for many years before re-opening after a lengthy and complete renovation.
While the hotel has retained its original exterior, the interior of the hotel has been almost entirely rebuilt and updated to satisfy modern requirements.
Decoration is crisp and contemporary throughout with a palette of white and grey across both public areas and guest accommodation.
Although the Melia San Carlos doesn’t have its own swimming pool, guests can make use of the pool at the nearby Melia Union hotel.
Perhaps the most notable feature of the hotel is its rooftop terrace which offers perhaps the best views of the Cienfuegos skyline and is a popular destination for a sundowner.
