For many years, Camaguey had some of the worst hotel options anywhere in Cuba, both in terms of quality and quantity. Thankfully, all that has now changed and the city now has a good range of mid-range, characterful accommodation.

In addition to these hotels, there are a number of locally run, heritage-style hotels in the heart of Camaguey including the Camino del Hierro, El Marques & La Avellaneda. All 3 hotels offer comfort, bags of character and a great central location but perhaps not quite the same reliability.

Camaguey also has its fair share of casa particulars although the vast majority are somewhat basic. The standout option, also home to one of the best restaurants in Camaguey, is the charming Hostal San Rafael.
